It is Dungeon Year 05.  Mankind still wages bloody war against its greatest enemy, the Vol-tet, with over a decade of disastrous consequences.  The continuous war against the vol-tet has left Mother Earth, desolate, barren, and lifeless.  If mankind cannot change the course of the war, Mother Earth will die, along with the remnants of humanity.  

There is still hope: five years ago, mankind discovered the Mad Dungeon.  

In an age before time was tracked or history was recorded, the demon lord Beelzebub revolted against the underworld itself.  In a fit of madness (or pure brilliance, as some historians have argued) Beelzebub created the Mad Dungeon, a realm of endless chambers, where the ferocity of its monsters is only matched by the promise of its treasure.  This is what mankind has staked its hope on: that somewhere, somehow, in this vast realm lies a treasure so powerful, it will change the course of the war.
